Dennis Stripling
Executive Director at West Alabama Regional Commission
Dennis Stripling is the Executive Director at West Alabama Regional Commission (WARC). He has been the Director of WARC since April 2018. Previously, Mr. Stripling served 14 years as Mayor of Brent in Bibb County.
The WARC is a seven-county regional planning and development commission, providing services in Economic Development, Transportation Planning and Technical Assistance, Aging programs under the Older American’s Act and Medicaid Waiver services.
Stripling is the President of the Alabama Association of Regional Councils, and 2nd Vice-President of Development District of Appalachia that serves 13 states and 423 counties across the Appalachian Region. He is a member of the National Association of Development Organizations, is a member of Southeast Regional Directors Institute, and a member of Region Three Workforce Council. Stripling is currently serving as the 1st Vice-President on the board of directors at Indian Rivers Behavioral Health representing Bibb, Pickens, and Tuscaloosa Counties. In September 2018 Gov. Kay Ivey appointed him to serve on the State of Alabama Department of Mental Health Board of Trustees.
