CALL TO ACTION - Contact Governor Bryant
The Southern Rail Commission has been working with communities along the Gulf Coast, including Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida, to restore high-quality and convenient passenger rail service that was destroyed during Hurricane Katrina.
A recent service restoration study by Amtrak recommended short-run daily service between New Orleans and Mobile, AL along with longer distance daily service to Florida, both of which would provide new transportation access for Mississippi residents.
In February 2016, SRC, along with Amtrak and FRA, hosted the Gulf Coast Inspection Train between New Orleans to Jacksonville, FL which was met with over 10,000 supporters. It was especially welcomed along Mississippi’s Gulf Coast!
Mississippi residents want daily passenger rail service that supports improved access to skilled workers and jobs -and supports future growth and economic development in our coastal communities.
Take action and send a STATEMENT OF SUPPORT to Governor Phil Bryant letting him know that you support state investment in the restoration of passenger rail service along the Gulf Coast!
